Double-dip Recession? What Double-dip Recession?

Wow. Just...wow. Perhaps the problem with the Oldhammer movement is that now that its public, every ex-gamer with a loft has gone completely mad?

I think, depending on how this chaps sale goes, I'm going to put my whole lichemaster collection on eBay and pay off my house...

  1. Idiot seller! All that material is available as a pdf!

    This wont sell.

  3. It does seem that since Oldhammer has taken off over the last year or so that eBay prices have also jumped considerably. Even the lowliest rank and file stuff is rarely seen for less than £2-£3 plus postage whereas it used to be common to be able to pick them up for about 99p a couple of years back.

With the arrival of PDF scans of just about all the classic rulebooks I am surprised that the market hasn't eased off a little. Still I suppose that its not the same as having the actual book...

    All the best!

  4. I dunno, its an unpunched set, considering the confessions of big, big spending on OOP Warhammer on Orlygg's blog recently I've a feeling this fellow might be selling himself short. I've put it in my watchlist just to see what happens!

  5. I got an unpunched TotL last year for less than a tenner. But I suspect prices will have gone through the roof generally since then.

  6. Oh I'd say it'll sell. Nice carpet too.

  7. That fella has quite a few inflated "buy it now" prices, 1st edition WFB for 75?

  8. Maybe it's time to go underground! All this enthusing about old school Warhammer on our blogs is apparently inflating prices and we're thus shooting ourselves in the foot. We should be blogging about how all the old sculpts suck and how finecast rocks and how only idiots would buy the old stuff and only idiots would keep it and not sell it for next to nothing on eBay!

  9. If I remember rightly when it was released it was £5.99. I can't see anyone paying £125 for it, not yet anyway....

Yeah finecast is great, buy finecast not poisonous 80s lead!

    1. Ha ha! You have not read the results of some of the studies linking the finecast resin material to Gynaecomastia. Good luck with that argument.

  10. I've seen stuff go for the most unlikely prices on ebay, but my betting is this one won't sell.

  11. I'm not sure this has anything to do with Oldhammer "buzz", there are always been overpriced things and sellers believing their stuff being worthier than the real price on ebay. This one won't sell like many other before and many to come after...

  12. There have always been overpriced buy it nows but I'm sure people are bidding more than they used to. Whether that's down to Oldhammer, growth in collecting or what, I don't know. Just viewed this auction thinking it was £22 not £222 - I bet the seller can't believe it:
