Goblins are green. And sometimes trolls are too...

A little while ago I mentioned that I had descended into madness, because my obsession to paint goblins had interrupted my well formed plans for the undead and now my high elves.

I've made some progress. Now some might look at this progress, look at the date of this post and the date of the starting point, and then challenge my use of the term obsession. About as obsessed a drug dealer with his tax return, you might suggest. Or as obsessed as an eight year old with a spinach smoothie.

Okay.

You got me there.

But still. They're painted miniatures. Unfortunately, I was unable to stage my existing goblin force with these ones, but that'll come someday. Perhaps when I've finished some more goblins.

Just look at the pictures already:

Gaj

  7. Excellent, excellent, excellent! You're paintings really coming on, isn't it? Your use of varied, and vibrant, colour really brings these great models to life. A force to be envious of, indeed.

  9. What I like about these particular Trolls is their habit of attacking their own men/goblin brothers and leaving my troops alone.....Garth as I said before, these are great miniatures and well painted to.

  10. Great work! I agree with Orlygg, your painting skills are improving.
What happened to the other three crew members of the lead belcher?

  11. Thought it looked a bit short-handed!

Great work - really like the trolls in particular.

Looking forward to following the roller coaster ride of your Goblin obsession further! ;)

  13. Thanks chaps - it looks like the whole inking thing is the right way to go after all. As regards the lead belcher, this is all of it that I have. Having looked at the thing up on Stuff of Legends, I see that I'm missing some spikes on the front (I know abou the wheel spikes, I chose not to put those) and the other three crew members!

I've tracked the various crew on eBay, but I've always had other more important things to get. I don't think the crews are that rare.

I suppose this is the official Warhammer Armies version - a 3 crew 4 barrel organ gun...

  15. Great set of goblins.
Love the trolls and lead belcher too. I like the choice of red for one of the trolls, understated and unusual.

Always good to see old style painted goblins :)

  16. I think you may have another one or two of the crew men in your unit of gobbos. I have a few spare crew knocking about, when and if I find them in my goblin mountain they are yours, can't guarantee a full set and I have no spare spikes.

Given how glacially slowly I do things I may have found them by the time of the oldhammer weekender.

  17. These have all the elements just, just right. Really wonderful craftsmanship and attention to detail. The figures themselves are some of my favorites.
